Gordon Ramsay's net worth is usually put at about $220 million (roughly £165 million), the figure given by Celebrity Net Worth. Nothing Ramsay has filed discloses his personal net worth. What does exist, filed at Companies House on 13 October 2026, is the first set of group accounts for the company that now holds his restaurants: £151.8 million in sales, a £16.3 million loss, and £12.4 million the group owes Ramsay himself on a director's loan.

Where the $220 million estimate comes from
The $220 million figure comes from Celebrity Net Worth, and it is widely repeated. It is an estimate: no published accounts verify it. Useful as a rough marker, nothing more.
The Sunday Times Rich List stopped counting him long ago. According to Fortune, Ramsay was dropped from the list in 2009, after it had previously valued him at £50 million.
Earnings are a little easier to pin down, though the latest reliable figure is old. Forbes put his 2020 earnings at $70 million (about £52 million at the October 2026 exchange rate) and ranked him 19th on its Celebrity 100 list of the highest-paid entertainers.
What the new accounts show
At the start of 2025 Ramsay merged his UK restaurants with his North American business, which private equity firm Lion Capital had co-owned since 2019. The deal completed on 31 January 2025, and Restaurant magazine reported on 17 February that the two sides would each hold 50% of a new London holding company, with close to 100 restaurants worldwide. That company is Gordon Ramsay Restaurants (Global) Ltd, and its accounts for the 52 weeks to 28 December 2025 have just been published.
| Gordon Ramsay Restaurants (Global) Ltd | 52 weeks to 28 Dec 2025 |
|---|---|
| Turnover | £151.8m |
| Gross profit | £73.3m |
| Management EBITDA (company measure) | £14.4m |
| Operating loss | £10.8m |
| Loss after tax | £16.3m |
| Cash at year end | £7.9m |
| Net liabilities | £6.9m (2024: £40.7m) |
| Average monthly employees | 1,598 (2024: 1,168) |
The directors call the £14.4 million of management EBITDA the group's highest ever. That measure leaves out interest, tax, depreciation, amortisation and exceptional costs, and the exceptions were large: £9.9 million, a significant part of it pre-opening costs for new restaurants, plus a £2.9 million net charge for impairments and onerous lease provisions. The result was a £10.8 million operating loss. Add £5.7 million of interest payable, and after a small tax credit the loss for the period came to £16.3 million.
A warning on the comparisons. The 2024 figures cover 70 weeks of the UK business only. The 2025 figures cover a full year in the UK plus about 11 months of the US business, so the two years cannot be lined up directly.
The group's main focus in 2025 was 22 Bishopsgate in the City of London, where three new flagship venues opened in February 2025, among them a Lucky Cat on the 60th floor and Restaurant Gordon Ramsay High, which has since won a Michelin star. The opening programme continued into 2026: Harden's reported on 28 August 2026 that Gordon Ramsay at Sea Containers, on the South Bank, was due to open on 1 September.
Ramsay is also one of the group's lenders
The most revealing page for anyone curious about his personal finances is note 29, on related parties. It shows Ramsay sitting on both sides of the table: co-owner, and creditor.
- Director's loan: at 28 December 2025 the group owed G J Ramsay £12.39 million, up from £11.34 million a year earlier. The loan accrued £1,001,035 of interest in the year at SONIA plus 4.25%.
- Loan notes: part of what Ramsay received for transferring his North American shareholding (held through Slice of Humble Pie Limited) was a $6 million payment-in-kind note. At year end it stood at £4.09 million ($5.51 million). The £377,683 of interest accrued on it had not been paid.
- Personal guarantees: he had given personal guarantees totalling £3.75 million on the group's banking facility.
The same note records a £6.9 million loan from Humble Pie Media Limited, which is linked to the group through a common director and shared shareholders.
The ownership note is short: the group "is owned 50% by Gordon and Cayetana Ramsay, 50% by Lion/GRNA Aggregator LP. There is no ultimate controlling party."
So how rich is Gordon Ramsay?
The accounts say Gordon and Tana Ramsay jointly own 50% of the group, alongside the Lion Capital vehicle, but they don't put a value on that stake, and the press coverage of the 2025 deal did not report its price. A balance sheet showing net liabilities doesn't make the stake worthless, either. Book value is not market value, and the accounts describe a licensing estate that "continued to expand at pace", with partners opening Ramsay-branded sites across Europe, North America, the Middle East and Asia.
Three conclusions are safe:
- The restaurant group is still loss-making after tax. These are the restaurant group's accounts only; they don't cover Ramsay's personal assets or any business outside the group.
- Ramsay has lent the group a lot of money. At the end of 2025 it owed him about £16.5 million across the director's loan and the loan notes.
- Any net worth figure, whether $220 million or something else, is an outside estimate. No published filing confirms it.
Accounts and rich-list figures often tell different stories. Lord Sugar's fortune looks different depending on whether you read the Rich List or his group's accounts, and the same gap shows up in our breakdowns of Noel Gallagher's company accounts and Jamie Carragher's.
Figures are taken from the group accounts filed at Companies House on 13 October 2026 and from the publications linked above. Net worth estimates for private individuals are not verified figures.
