Stephen Graham's net worth is most often put at about $6 million (roughly £4.5 million), the figure listed by Celebrity Net Worth. That is an unofficial estimate. What can be checked is Companies House: the two companies he co-owns with his wife, Hannah Walters, reported combined net assets of about £3.5 million in their latest filed accounts.

Graham is back on screens. Nocturne, the Apple TV crime drama in which he plays the serial killer Jurek Walter opposite Liev Schreiber, launched globally on 30 October 2026, with episodes rolling out weekly until Christmas. It is his first big series since Adolescence, the Netflix drama that won eight Emmys in 2025.

Where the $6 million estimate comes from

The number you will see repeated across the web traces back to Celebrity Net Worth, which lists Graham at $6 million. The site does not publish its working, and there is no Rich List entry or official disclosure behind it. Other aggregator pages quote anything from under $1 million to more than $20 million, which tells you how little hard information most of them have.

So treat the $6 million as a rough guide, not a fact. A net worth figure for a working actor would need to include property, pensions, savings and any money held outside his companies, none of which is public.

What the Companies House accounts show

Like many British actors, Graham works through limited companies, and their filings are public. They do not reveal his personal wealth, but they are the only primary figures available.

Gralf Limited: the long-running company

Gralf Limited was incorporated in January 2009, with Graham appointed a director the same day. Its Companies House record lists Graham and Hannah Graham (Walters' married name) as persons with significant control, each holding more than 25% but not more than 50% of the shares. The accounts name "S J and H Graham" as the controlling party.

The balance sheet has grown steadily:

Year endNet assetsCash at bank
31 March 2022£1,017,732£628,175
31 March 2023£1,805,365£1,500,428
31 March 2024£2,292,526£628,498
31 March 2025£2,599,813£773,256

Two details matter. First, most of Gralf's assets are not cash. At 31 March 2025 it reported £2,494,474 in debtors. Its accounts say £1,864,143 was due from "the directors", without breaking the balance down by individual director, so it cannot be attributed to Graham alone. Second, the company files small-company accounts, so no profit and loss account is published. The change in retained earnings (profit kept in the company after tax and any dividends) was £787,633 in the year to March 2023, £487,161 in 2024 and £307,287 in 2025. Those movements are not Graham's earnings: retained earnings can change with profits, losses, dividends and other adjustments, and the filed accounts do not disclose his personal pay.

Matriarch Productions: the Adolescence company

Graham and Walters set up Matriarch Productions in November 2019. Walters was its first director, and Graham joined the board in April 2022. Matriarch produced the Boiling Point series for the BBC and was one of three production companies behind Adolescence, alongside Warp Films and Brad Pitt's Plan B Entertainment.

Matriarch's reported net assets and cash changed as follows (the latest figures predate the March 2025 release of Adolescence):

  • November 2022: net liabilities of £70,867.
  • November 2023: net assets of £637,436, with £935,147 in the bank.
  • November 2024: net assets of £893,750, cash of £772,920, and £440,128 owed in tax and social security.

The 2024 accounts also record £468,955 owed to Matriarch by Gralf, a company under common control. In April 2026 Matriarch extended its current accounting period to 31 March 2026, so the next accounts are due by 31 December 2026. They will be the first to cover the months after Adolescence was released in March 2025.

Adding the two companies together gives about £3.5 million in net assets, but the figures are at different dates and are owned jointly with Walters. They show the size of the family's business, not Graham's personal fortune.

How Stephen Graham built his career

Graham has been working since 1990. His career falls into three broad phases.

  • Film character work: early roles in Snatch and Gangs of New York, then his breakthrough as Combo in This Is England (2006), followed by Hollywood parts in Pirates of the Caribbean, The Irishman and the Venom films.
  • Prestige TV: Al Capone in HBO's Boardwalk Empire, Line of Duty, Time, Peaky Blinders and A Thousand Blows.
  • Producing and writing: the biggest change. Graham co-created and co-wrote Adolescence with Jack Thorne, and Matriarch Productions was one of its three production companies. The deal terms and his compensation have not been published.

Adolescence reached a huge audience. Netflix's own all-time Top 10 list credits Adolescence with 142.6 million views, second only to the first season of Wednesday among English-language series. At the 77th Emmys in September 2025, Graham personally won lead actor and, with Thorne, the writing award. The deal terms between Netflix and the producers have not been published, so there is no reliable figure for what Adolescence paid him.

What Nocturne means for his earnings

On Nocturne, Graham is an actor and one of the executive producers, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The ten-part series, adapted from Lars Kepler's novel Lazarus, is produced by A+E Studios with Range Studios, not by Matriarch. His fee has not been reported, so any number you see for it is a guess.

Later company accounts may show changes in company-level figures, but they cannot establish what Nocturne paid him or how it affected his personal wealth. For comparison, see how the accounts of Patrick Stewart, Ross Kemp and Nick Mohammed compare with the estimates published about them.

The bottom line

Stephen Graham is estimated to be worth about $6 million (around £4.5 million), but that figure is unofficial. The verifiable part is the companies: Gralf Limited had £2.6 million in net assets in March 2025 and Matriarch Productions £0.9 million in November 2024, both co-owned with his wife. Matriarch's next accounts, due by 31 December 2026, will cover the period that includes the March 2025 release of Adolescence. They may show company-level changes, but they still won't settle what Graham is personally worth.
