Anthony Joshua's net worth is estimated at £240m (about $320m) by the 2026 Sunday Times Rich List, which makes him the richer of the two heavyweights who meet at Cardiff's Principality Stadium on 11 December. His own company's audited accounts show £166m of net assets, and the fight with Tyson Fury carries a reported purse of roughly $200m to be shared between them.
A wealth estimate, a company's net assets and a shared fight purse are three different things. Here is what each number is, where it comes from, and what nobody outside his camp can know yet.

Where the £240m figure comes from
The headline number is the Sunday Times Rich List's. In the 2026 edition, reported by BBC Sport on 15 May, Joshua is the eighth-highest sports figure on £240m, one place above Fury on £162m. ESPN's report of the same list says the valuations were carried out between November 2025 and 24 April 2026.
The direction of travel is clear. The paper's under-40 list had him on £175m in 2024 and £195m in 2025, so the latest figure is a £45m rise in a year. On the 2026 under-40 list he sits 22nd, one place above Harry Styles on £235m.
It is still an estimate. The Rich List is built from assets its researchers can identify, such as company holdings and property, and it is not a statement of what sits in anyone's bank account. Treat £240m as the best-sourced outside view of his wealth, and no more than that.
What his company accounts actually show
The hardest numbers come from Sparta Promotions Ltd, which was incorporated in September 2012. Companies House lists Joshua as its sole director and as a person with significant control. Its audited group accounts for the year ended 27 February 2025, filed at Companies House in July 2026 and amended in August, report:
- Turnover: £41.5m, up from £32.0m the year before
- Profit before tax: £35.7m
- Tax on profit: £10.1m
- Profit after tax: £25.6m, up from £21.4m
- Net assets: £166.1m, up from £140.4m
- Cash at bank: £36.3m
- Dividends: none in the year, against £10.1m the year before
The strategic report says the year was "headlined by" his bouts against Francis Ngannou in March 2024 and Daniel Dubois, for the IBF world title, in September 2024. Income comes from two divisions: boxing, which generates what the accounts call bout income, and marketing services built on sponsorships and endorsements.
Company money is not personal money. The £166.1m is the group's net assets, an accounting figure for a business Joshua controls. About £140m of its assets are debtors, meaning money owed to the group, and £36.3m is cash. It is not a valuation of the business, and it is not what he could spend tomorrow.
Two more caveats. The accounting period ended before the Jake Paul fight in December 2025, the comeback in July 2026 and the Fury bout. And the accounts cover only this group: in its 2024 entry the Sunday Times said Sparta held £129.2m of his wealth and that he had been buying buildings in Mayfair, on Bond Street and BP's former headquarters in Hertfordshire.
The Jake Paul payday nobody has confirmed
Joshua knocked out Jake Paul in the sixth round in Miami on 19 December 2025, live on Netflix. We have found no officially confirmed purse. The figure most widely circulated was $184m in total, which would mean about $92m (roughly £69m) each if it was split evenly. Joshua himself cast doubt on the bigger claims: asked in fight week whether it would be the largest payday of his career, he replied "Unfortunately, it's not", according to Yahoo Sports. Treat the $184m total and the $92m share as unconfirmed.
Ten days later he was in a car crash in Nigeria that killed two close friends and members of his team, Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele. The Athletic reports that he was back in training by April 2026. He returned to the ring on 25 July in Saudi Arabia and stopped Kristian Prenga in the second round.
Fury vs Joshua: the purse and what it could add
The Fury fight is the big one financially. The Athletic reports that the two men are "set to share the roughly $200 million purse", which it calls comfortably the largest of their careers. That is about £150m at the exchange rate implied by the Rich List coverage. How it is divided has not been made public.
What we do know:
- The fight is financed by Turki Alalshikh, chairman of Saudi Arabia's General Entertainment Authority, and will be shown worldwide on Netflix.
- Both contracts are for a single fight with no rematch clause, according to The Athletic.
- Alalshikh has said that moving the bout from New York to Cardiff will cost him $70m (about £52m) in revenue.
- Promoter Eddie Hearn has said Joshua insisted on fighting in the UK knowing there would be an "eight-figure difference" in his pay.
So, by his promoter's account, Joshua accepted a smaller cheque to fight at home. Tax is another unknown. The Athletic cites a 20% UK withholding tax for non-resident sportspeople. Companies House lists Joshua's place of residence as the United Arab Emirates, after his director's details were updated in March 2026, but that entry alone does not establish his tax residency or the tax due on this fight. We do not know how his income from it is structured, so any "take-home" figure you see is a guess.
Fury vs Joshua tickets: on sale 9 October
Tickets go on general sale on Friday 9 October at midday BST, The Independent reports, with sales through Ticketmaster. When the boxing site Split Decision checked the Ticketmaster listing on 1 October, no full price list was available, so we are not going to guess at one. Check the official listing for prices once they are published.
Joshua knows the venue. Around 78,000 watched him stop Carlos Takam under the Principality Stadium roof in October 2017, and he outpointed Joseph Parker there in March 2018. The start time has not been confirmed, and The Independent says the main event is likely to begin in the early hours to suit American viewers. The Independent quotes Fury predicting that tickets "will probably sell out in about 39 seconds".
How Joshua compares with Britain's richest sports figures
| Name | Sunday Times Rich List 2026 |
|---|---|
| David and Victoria Beckham | £1.185bn |
| Barry and Eddie Hearn | £1.035bn |
| Sir Lewis Hamilton | £435m |
| Anthony Joshua | £240m |
| Tyson Fury | £162m |
| Harry Kane | £110m |
All figures are as reported by BBC Sport. The gap worth noticing is the one between the fighter and his promoter: Eddie Hearn promotes Joshua, and the combined fortune of Eddie and his father Barry is more than four times Joshua's. For other sporting fortunes, see our pieces on Harry Kane, Canelo Álvarez and Rio Ferdinand.
Is Anthony Joshua richer than Tyson Fury?
On the 2026 Sunday Times Rich List estimates, yes. The list puts Joshua on £240m and Fury on £162m, a gap of £78m. Fury appears on the under-40 list for the first time this year, at number 29.
The bottom line
£240m is the best current estimate of Anthony Joshua's net worth, and it comes from the Sunday Times, not from Joshua. £166.1m is the net assets figure in Sparta Promotions' audited group accounts at 27 February 2025. What the Fury fight adds is still unknown. Sparta's next accounts cover the period to 31 March 2026 and are due at Companies House by 31 December 2026; that period includes the date of the Jake Paul fight and ends before the Fury bout. Until the numbers are filed, treat £240m as a dated estimate, not a balance that updates after every fight.
